How to get to La Mela Rosa

La Mela Rosa is located 5kms from Amandola in the tiny hamlet of Caccianebbia (‘Ka-cha-nebbia’).

By air

Local airports on the Adriatic include Ancona and Pescara. Both have frequent economy flights from the UK and other parts of Europe. Of course, there are international and economy flights into Rome.

By road

From Ancona: Get on the A14. Take the exit marked "MACERATA-CIVITANOVA MARCHE" . Get on the superstrdada for MACERATA,

Exit at 'SFORZACOSTA' and follow the signs for SARNANO. After SARNANO, follow the signs to AMANDOLA (about 20 mins).

From Rome airport: Take the autostrada towards ROMA and then the ring road going in the direction FIRENZE, follow the ring road to exit number 8 for the VIA SALARIA - S4 in the direction of RIETI. Once on the VIA SALARIA or S4, follow it all the way, skirting Rieti by taking the direction Est (east) towards ASCOLI PICENO. About 10 kms after AQUASANTE TERME take the turn left to COMUNANZA and then from there to AMANDOLA.

Once in Amandola, after passing under the arch, drive through the piazza & take the first left marked "FERMO" (coming from Comunanza, you will turn right at this sign without crossing the piazza). After about 2kms at the sign “CACCIANEBBIA”. turn left & follow the white road which will drop down & twist a bit & then straighten out. After about 2kms, the road begins to climb & twist again. At the next intersection, turn left up the hill & the gate is about 250m on the left.

By public transport

Rome has a coach service to Amandola which leaves from Fermata no. 18 at the Tiburtina bus station (adjacent to Roma Tiburtina railway station) at 1.50 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive.

From Ancona, there is a local train to Porto San Giorgio, which runs every 40 minutes. We can arrange for you to be collected either from Ancona or from Porto San Giorgio by a local driver.
